has transmitted the composition Weke Vincenzo Cipriani in the program "Buzz Cucarini" conducted by Lorella Cuccarini.
I have always believed that to create an album is like writing a novel; where the composer attempts to tell a story musically and to stir up lots of emotions and feelings. The music helps him to fantasise and travel with his own mind towards new horizons and emotions, or on the contrary, take him back years where he can relive old emotions that have shaped his life.
The first six compositions really encompass the comprehensive musical education I received: moving through the musical spectrum, from jazz, classical, pop, tango, to Gregorian chant. I wrote the compositions in the space of one hot summer when I experienced a strong urge to say something to others, forgetting all my inhibitions and stereotypes; speaking about myself through my music. All the compositions have a descriptive character and are generally subdivided into more episodes which each tell a different story allowing everyone to let their imaginations roam free.
The next three compositions are a tribute to Astor Piazolla and the Beatles who have really influenced and characterised the key moments of my life.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the musicians of the ensemble, the soloists and the Coro di Voci Bianche San Matteo who have contributed to the realisation of the musical project WEKE.
I would like to stress that what I have just said is not just a formality, but I truly mean it, because all that has been achieved is not just through professional cooperation, but through a shared conviction in a project that is due more to great friendship and mutual esteem, rather than just musical cooperation.
